Coming Attractions

This time a year the news media seem to be obsessed with reviewing the past year. This year being what they call the end of the decade they have been focused on the past ten years. What an opportunity to showcase the Anointed One as compared to the Spawn of the Devil, George Bush.

As you might guess I have quite a different perspective on the past. The importance of history lies in that you understand it so as to not repeat it. I give not a whit about the past because you really can't do anything about it. We tend to downplay the bad times and idealize the good ones and after all is said and done such folly along with $1.00 might buy you a cup of coffee.

So as 2010 dawns in a few hours I will give some predictions, both good and bad. I have nothing to go on except my observational powers and my gut. Frankly I hope most of them do not come to pass.

1. I believe that we will suffer a major terror attack in 2010. I know, this is a no-brainer after the Christmas Day attempt. We got REAL lucky that the plane was not exploded over Michigan! Other than our intelligence agencies STILL not talking to each other, the Appeaser-in-Chief has been on his world wide tour trying to play nice with that vermin. They only see it as a sign of weakness and have been ratcheting up their activity over the last half on 2009.

2. The Congress will pass a health care reform bill. Bend over and grab your ankles because, if you work and pay taxes, you will take a hit to the wallet. Hopefully they will water down what has passed so far so that the impact will be diluted but, never fear, they will keep coming back until they get all that they want. The only glimmer of hope lies in a strong backlash from their constituents that will make the weasels backtrack. Obviously the only thing more important than the government controlling our lives is that those currently in power are the ones doing it.

3. Sometime in 2010 the news media will get tired of Obama's shtick blaming everything on Bush and actually see him for the fraud he is. Eventually the lack of real job creation will become his fault. I expect the unemployment rate to remain above 9% all year. In fact I could see it staying at 10% or better.

4. Dick Cheney will continue to be a thorn in Obama's side. As Obama continues to flounder on foreign policy matters Cheney will exploit every opportunity to gig his butt. Besides, Cheney is old, has more money than God, and has nothing better to do. Enjoy your retirement, Dick!

5. Rush Limbaugh will continue to be the big winner from the Obama administration. He makes more money than Dick Cheney and the more the press demonizes him the more he makes. What a country! It is amazing that this guy with one semester of college continues to fluster all of those ivy league-rs. Let's pray for a quick recovery.

Sounds pretty cheery, huh? I hope items 1, 2, and 3 above do not come to pass but I look forward to numbers 4 & 5 for the entertainment value. These are serious times and the future of our country is in the balance. I keep hoping for a strong opposition leader to emerge but for now we will just have to settle for Cheney and Rush.

Happy New Year everyone!!!!
